Do you have any nicknames?
My name is Katherine, so Katie is technically a nickname!
In your words, what is your job at Beaverton Pet Clinic? Any special projects or responsibilities?
As a Veterinary Assistant, I help care for and treat our patients by drawing blood, administering vaccines and medications, taking X-rays, collecting vitals, filling prescriptions, cleaning ears, trimming nails, and so much more. I also work with clients to gather information about their pets, provide education about medications and care, and answer questions. Importantly, I provide support for my coworkers just by being available to help with anything and everything that comes our way!
Why did you decide to work at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
I knew that I wanted to work for a clinic that practiced excellent medicine while also prioritizing their staff’s well-being and professional development, and my first impressions of Beaverton Pet Clinic confirmed that it would be a good fit for me in that respect.
Do you have any pets? If so, name/age/description. Any special skills or fun features?
I have quite the little mixed flock, composed of three ducks (Irwin, Dorothy, and Gladys) and an Eclectus parrot (Ozzy).
Tell us a (or several!) little known fact(s) about you!
Between my work in veterinary medicine, zoos, wildlife research, and wildlife rehab, I’ve worked with about 200 different species!
