Certified Veterinary Technician

Meet Kristy, one of our experienced Certified Veterinary Technicians.

Do you have any nicknames?
No I don’t!

In your words, what is your job at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
I am a Certified Veterinary Technician. I also do inventory ordering and staff scheduling.

Why did you decide to work at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
I have always had a passion for animals. I would unofficially adopt all of the stray cats when I was younger without my dad knowing. I had always told my mom that I was going to grow up to be either a veterinarian or own a pet store so I could play with animals all day. My first job at 16 was at Petco, and Dr. Wilson was the main vet the store used. Since I knew and trusted the clinic he was the one I brought my cat Nala to for her vaccines and spay. Dr. Wilson ended up needing a kennel person so I applied and got the position. I have now been her for almost eighteen years (October 2019) and have worked my way up to where I am today.

Do you have any pets?
Not currently. Have had several cats, dogs, birds, fish, ferrets, rabbits, turtles, and guinea pigs in the past. I plan on having a dog again when I have a yard. It is nice having a break from pet duties right now.

Tell us a few little known facts about you!
I am a native Oregonian. I grew up in Beaverton with my dad, sister, and brother. I am the youngest of the three kids.

I bowl during the fall season. I am part of a Vegas league where all of the teams go to Vegas at the end of the season to bowl a tournament together. I have been doing that for 5 years now. I grew up bowling for fun since my mom worked at a bowling alley when I was a kid.

For fun I also karaoke with my friends at our favorite pub in Sherwood. We usually do that at least a couple times a month.
