Do you have any nicknames?
Not really. If I do people aren’t using them in front of me!
In your words, what is your job at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
My official title is Technician Assistant. My unofficial title is “Mom.” I do my best to work hard, meet client’s needs, take care of pets, be supportive of co-workers both inside and out of the clinic. I’m there if you need me! I do a wide range of tasks, including ordering pet food and pharmacy supplies, taking xrays, drawing blood, dental cleanings and taking out the trash, and helping to maintain the hospital. I take pride in my work ethic and strive to provide the best care possible for each client and their pets.
Why did you decide to work at Beaverton Pet Clinic?
Years and years ago I was actually offered a job at the clinic. I was coming in with my elderly cat multiple times a week, learned to provide care for him at home was offered a job on a part time basis. That quickly became a full time adventure that I’m happy that I accepted.
Do you have any pets?
I have cats that currently range in age from 6 years old to 20 years. Most of them have a story of having been rescued from a shelter, the street, my rural property, or taken in from a family member that could no longer care for them. They have a wide range of personalities – some being VERY friendly, others shy, smart ones, and a very lovably clumsy one.
Tell us a little known fact about you!
I have a very small Christmas tree farm on my rural property. Some people would be surprised to know that I own a pretty good sized tractor… and that I love to drive it! I’m fairly handy at home repairs and also cut and split my own firewood to heat my home in the winter.
